Commander Models

When Chris Craft introduced the 38' Commander in 1964 it was the first of a series of cruisers built entirely in fiberglass.

The Chris Craft Commander Club is mainly focusing on the Commanders built in the years 1964 though 1972, but there are also plenty of Commanders models made later in the 70-ies and 80-ies. Most of them carry three digit numbering such as the 41 -footer 410 Commander.

The name "Commander" has also been used by Chris Craft before 1964. The first model was actually a 34-foot cabin cruiser from 1943 and there are still mahogany Commanders from the 50-ies available on the market.

For pure purpose of ease-of-navigation on this site the Commander line has been divided into four groups:

bullet

19-28 foot Commanders ("Weekend Commanders")

bullet

31-38 foot Commanders ("Mainstream Commanders")

bullet

41-47 foot Commanders ("Large Commanders")

bullet

55-60 foot Commanders ("Mega Commanders")
