Some of you have
been following my progress with this old girl and here's an
update. She is for sale but I'm having fun with her. If I
sell her, it will be to buy a bigger Commander. Meanwhile,
here she is if anyone's interested.
What works: 2 Detroit Diesel 8V53 engines with ~1200
hours, (last run in June 2008, when we moved her to her new
slip). Kohler 10kw genset, electric toilet, all interior
32vdc system and Sentry 32vdc charger, 120vac system.
What work has been completed since Nov 2006: The
engines only needed new injector lines. Four new 8vdc
batteries for start/house. Bilge cleaned and painted. All
new polybutelene water lines and manifolds. New water
heater. One fuel tank and all new USCG Type A-1 fuel lines
and two-stage spin on filters. Insulation in ceilings and
most walls. Mini-blinds in the saloon. New headliner in
master stateroom. Second hanging locker installed in master.
All rooms painted and new tile floors throughout. New
32vdc/12vdc/120vac electrical panels. New 12vdc system with
2 Trojan T105 deep cycle batteries. New 12vdc bilge pump and
100vac emergency sump pump. Additional 30 amp service.Galley
refreshed and new lighting and paint. Many, many minor
things that take time and cost money.
Work planned for this fall: Install additional fuel
tanks. Re-deck the cockpit. Install 2 Espar diesel heaters.
Complete headliner in saloon. Install holding tank. Have the
injector racks adjusted.Take a 2-week cruise.
Work planned for the winter: Insulate the deckhouse
and install new headliner. Test the A/C's for operation and
repair as necessary. Install second toilet.
Work planned for Spring 2009. Mostly cosmetic.
