Hi,

I wonder how many 42 DC is still alive, and if there is a data about the number of soft top ones and hardtop ones out of 191 hulls built.

Hi Scott,

I am interested in your boat. Actually i will prefer yours if possible, because its original. I will wait for your photos, but if you find another buyer please let me know.

In case you are interested, Scott Pullin is selling his 1967 Commander 42 as well. If you are interested I can try to get some additional information on it. At least we know the window tracks have been replaced! :-)

I was told more information will be available this weekend. I'll post it when I see it.

If the toe rail is thick with square edges BUY this boat TODAY and ship it to Europe now! Hate to worn out teak laminate . Look at Chris Orphal's  67 !!!!!

I did contact the Mariners Museum upon your advice, but they are having some updates in their storage systems and they will finish it probably late June. But they did send me a data card on Commander 42 DC indicating they are sold with optional twin gm diesel 8V53, now i wonder if there are any sold with diesels originally. Did anyone heard of one ever before.

No exact numbers, but the hard tops were more of a rare bird... Perhaps the Mariner's Museum could help with such a request - they have all of the manufacturing information for CC.

There were quite a few sold with the Detroit Diesels... not sure of the exact number of them though.  My understanding is that they were a very heavy engine.  There are several 42 diesel owners out there that would have a lot better insight on them... my 42 is a gas, so I can't really comment on them as far as up keep, performance, parts availability, etc...
