We have enjoyed our 1978 Chris Craft 45 Commander for 25 years but, unfortunately, we all get older and my wife is having a hard time with cruising these days. The boat is located in South West Florida.

The boat was originally a 3 cabin model.  The prior owner....I am the third owner…converted the forward cabin into a queen forward...... which opened the forward space tremendously....with the aft cabin the original dual full size berths.  This change has worked out great over the years to accommodate guests (kids, grand kids and friends) aft while the Captain and Admiral enjoy a large stateroom forward.

The galley has been also changed to "open" the space.  The old full size refrigerator was taken out and the counter top extended for more counter space.  An "Under the Counter" refrigerator was installed and a full size microwave  tucked in over the counter.  In addition, the oven was replaced with a dish washer (guess who wanted that) and all counter tops were replaced with Corean including both head counters, the aft counter between bunks and all surfaces in the forward berth and the counter on the port side of the down station.  The forward head was replaced with a new Crown freshwater (guess who wanted that), aft is still original but works great.

Lorelei will still cruise at 15 knots and top out at the original published 19 knots IF the bottom and gear are clean.  Engines have original 3200 hours and have been serviced religiously every 80 to 100 hours or each year for those years we didn't get to use the boat much.  The exhaust systems (engine to mufflers) were replaced but the engines are wonderfully original and do not smoke on cold start....love those 8V71N's. In addition, the engine room Halon system has been replaced with a new Fireboy system including the engine shutdown system for all three engines and all cabin extinguishers are new and certified. My folder of receipts accumulated over the years is VERY thick.

Well, that is the short summary of Lorelei for your consideration. Please check the pictures and let me know if you have any questions.  Many more pictures are available upon request and the price is a very reasonable $79,500.00.

I created 3 Albums with 53 photos of Lorelei:

Very nice looking boat. We need more pictures, engines included. How clean is she and how would you rate her overall?

Thank you for the reply.

I could only post a few pictures based on the limits of the site...not sure how to post more BUT I have 50 more ready to send.  My contact information is Bill Hummer, cccomander@aol.com, 954-298-3390 and I would be happy to email the pictures as well as the April, 2017 insurance survey.

How do you post additional pictures above the 7 meg limit?

We have found that classifieds are more successful if the seller provides contact information. The public does have access to this section but cannot contact members unless the contact information is posted.

Only members can reply to the ad or click on your name and send a private message.  You could create a separate e-mail just for the classified.

You can edit your post to include contact information.

Thank you for using the Classifieds section!

You could post your photos in the Library, create an album and then post the link to the album here. Which might be best if you have 50 photos.

Here are instructions:

Wow Bill, she’s beautiful! Magnificent job on that interior. Good luck with the sale.

Never have I seen a saltwater boat that looked so much like a freshwater boat. Amazing! I only wish I were in a position to own a bigger Commander, because this one is irresistible.

I really like what they did with the interior of this one. It makes total sense and should have been an option from the factory to have a large bed forward. I expect the layout will be a selling feature. Very nice boat.

Jim, maybe we can make a deal, you move up 8 feet, I move up 10 feet then at some point you take the 45 and I retire to boatless or maybe 21 or 27!  Keep track of where yours goes, I may want to retire to that size.  I think Dick Avery retired to a mid 20's boat, a good track for me.

Tim

Thank you all for the kind words!  Matt inspired me to shine it up even more!

The open stateroom forward actually allows 2 people to function at the same time....did you notice the TV tucked away above the bed?

Just a footnote to Tim....we have retired to a 19' center console with NO varnished trim.....not a bad plan.

Bill

Oh boy, you're making me think.... I have a lot of projects to do on my 27 before it's ready for market. For now, being able to trailer my boat is necessary. Getting the 45 from SW Florida to your place would be a nice trip; getting your boat to NH would be another matter!!

Jim, just figure you would be  half Looped, might require that for both of us to be were we to become serious about this.  Too many cold days away from the boat, withdrawal hallucinations setting in.
