Interesting news. Returns Chris Craft to American ownership. Maybe Chris Craft now will be able to get back to building and designing larger yachts again instead of just runabouts -

So immediately I think of Breaking Bad...

Second though is that the larger cruisers now will have slide-out living rooms and bed rooms.

Ugh and to think of the paint schemes...

"So immediately I think of Breaking Bad..."

And don't forget The Walking Dead..

Sorry, please explain the 'Breaking Bad' connection? Referring to the mobile lab out in the desert?

Probably  not  the  worst  path CC has taken  over  the  years, not  unlike  the  Murray  ownership.  The  test will  be  fuel prices  and  recovery  of the  middle  class.  Currently  the  purchase  power  seems  limited  to  us  old folks  and the  1%.

Yes, the "mobile lab".  Many scenes focused around an older Winnebago in both Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead....

Guess ill rename the boat SeaBago

Concerning the comment about Chris Craft now being able to make larger boats: Check out their 44' Commander.  You'll need a million dollars to get one though.

Looks like the new 44 Commander is designed after a luxury Italian shoe....Certainly not for me, even if I ever had that kind of money in my life.

Keep in mind that we are not the target market :)

It is distinctive looking for sure, as all Chris Crafts have been. But considering that a few years ago at the Boston boat show, a CC rep told me that they would not be building new cruiser boats, it's a good sign that they are in fact building them. Let's hope they are successful and expand the line to smaller cruisers as well. But hopefully better looking than the average Winnebago ;-)

The Chris Craft 44 Commander is actually the Austin Parker 42 sedan with the Chris Craft name on it- if it looks European - it's because it is-

While it would be nice to see Winne start building Chris Crafts like they should be built, I'm anxious to see what kind of weight and cost saving measures they take from the RV world and apply it to boats.

We boarded a Beneteau Grand Turismo the other day. It was a 47 foot, $750K boat that looked spectacular from the outside. On the inside it was a total disappointment though. It felt like we were in a cheap travel trailer with plastic fixtures and hollow panel doors. It was a total let down.
