I have up for sale several stainless steel stanchions that directly replace the original chrome plated brass ones used on late 60's to early 70's Commanders. They are, new old stock in great shape. They can also be buffed to a mirror finish. I am selling these for $12.00 ea. I also have two handrail end pieces also available at 12.00 ea.

These all accept the same 7/8" tube and are attached using 1/4" bolts.

Hi Bob,

Interesting- Do you have pictures or dimensions?

Thanks,

Dick Burkhard

Are they the volcano type bases?

If anybody here has Volcano stanchions in good shape, I call dibs!  Been looking for a long time now... but they seem to be scarce (unless you want to pay thru the nose).

The original chrome plated cast zinc station bases are the only deck hardware on our boat that didn't survive the test of time. Some of the vendors have stainless reproductions for about $60 each. Sadly, our 27 Commander has 18 of them. 10 around the cockpit, and 8 more optional ones down the sides. Do the math on that one... Yikes!

Jim,

What are Volcano stanchions ?

I have 4 stanchions off of the fly bridge from my 28 sports express but I don't know if their Volcano.

I would sell them for a reasonable price.

Send me a picture if possible.

I have 18 of the of the middle stanchions and the 2 ends. I also have the pieces that go on the face board under the windshield to hold the other pipe end. Theses are nor stainless but are the original plated brass.

Patrick,

This is the Volcano stanchion:

Used to be about $45 from the old Chris Parts...
