Hello u all :

I've imported in 80's from Mantoloking NJ , one CC 31" Sport Express named Lady Luck and Ive used and enjoyed for almost ten years..the I bought a Bertram 38" SF putting the CC in my backyard till..yesterday.

Now I decided to restore it. The engines (couple of 427 CC 300HP  L/R rotation ) are now tired..low compression in two cilynders..ignition troubles ,some corrosion around exhaust port and risers also..then guess not safe to use.

Here in Italy is almost impossible to find the same type of engine rebuilded...and dismount using new parts on old engines..looks for me heavvy way to do the job...and I wish to have the ORIGINAL type.

There is some rebuilded 427 for my boats? wich company? I really ask because I dont know.

Sorry for my poor english and thx in advance

Ciao Titta

Hello Titta,

Your english is fine. Better than some Americans...   lol

You may be better off asking a local boat yard about replacement engines in Italia.

I do envy your 'backyard' storage facility!  I am about to acquire a project boat identical to your 31 Sports Express. Yours looks much better.

Jim

Thx Jim...here in Italy are all afraid about gasoline engines....old models..and so on...so they say " throw away putting new diesels" or.." buy new Mercruisers"   "change with a diesel models"..I got the 38" Bertram with brand new (2016) Cummins 500HP then... enough  Diesel....I try to have the boat in original condition , including engines.

Anyway....winterseason (at the moment) looks long and will see around US...or where I can find the 427 rebuilded as new.

But thanks ...and  good luck for ur project :)

Ciao Titta
