I have a Kohler (1967) 6.5 generator aboard our 42 Commander with a cracked head.  By the looks of it, it must have happened years ago, and a previous owner had JB Welded it.  Probably wasn't winterized properly sometime in the past.  That "repair" seemed to work for a while, but of course, the whole generator wasn't working when we bought the boat three years ago.  Now that we've fixed the generator, and are using it regularly, the "repaired" head is now leaking.  I would guess that it could be welded, but I'd like to find an intact replacement.  Would be interesting in a complete generator (would not need to be running), as long as the head isn't cracked.

I want to thank several of you who corresponded with me regarding my generator.  Although several of you offered good prices on complete generators, I'm still hoping to find just a head and fix mine.  If I don't find one by spring, I will likely look at buying a complete unit and either stripping it for parts, or replacing mine.  In the meantime, if anyone has a head available for this unit, please let me know.  Thanks again.

Kevin I found this website for Kohler heads .Don't know if they have one for you but they may know where to get one
