Hello fellow Chris-Craft owners...

I am writing a new book on Chris-Craft, telling the company's story from 1874 through today.

Unlike previous books that were heavy with text and black & white images, this book will be a coffee table book with beautiful images of the many models of Chris Craft built. It will be published by Rizzoli International and come out this coming April.

SEEKING HIGH QUALITY, COLOR IMAGES OF CHRIS CRAFT BOATS

Image Criteria:

-Digital, High resolution, minimum 300DPI

-you have the rights to images ( if you did not shoot yourself)

-boats must be underway or at anchor, not at a dock.

-must be received by 9/27/17 to be considered

please send to nick@kerbersfarm.com or call 516-982-8710 for more info.

Thanks for your help, Nick

Information on this book, and my other books can be found here:

Hi...these are great...

do you have any, or know of anyone that may have a group of commanders running together

I haven't seen any photos like that.

Nick, I fail to see the benefit for the club and much benefit for you obtaining free material for your publishing venture.  Please help me understand my misconception.  The fact we have a no cost membership does not mean that we give everything away, it means that we value the input and exchange of information and experience.  We remain free not by giving away but by exchange and purchases of our valued information.  Perhaps you were thinking of a percentage of page space and remuneration from publishing income?

I would think any owner would be proud to have their boat in the the book . I think the benefit to the club is, it fosters interest in Chris Craft which is what we are about . I think we should welcome and encourage any new information . If Nick had to pay for every picture he used , would it be a viable project ? Just my opinion .

Looking forward to a new CC book  Doug

Nick's request is for pictures we took ourselves, or have the rights to. I would assume that most of the photos we have, were taken by or for the owner. He's not asking for club property, if there even is such a thing (I assume that my photos in my albums are still my property). Anyone who wants to hold out for compensation for their material is free to do so. If I were a professional photobug, I would. But I'm not, and freely share my photos - I think it would be awesome for my boat to appear in any book. In fact I may go shoot some better photos now that the boat has been repainted and looks much better than it did in my calendar photos.

Just my .02

Jim

Tim,

I'm not sure how to respond to your message other than I am inviting owners that are proud of their boats to submit photos for possible inclusion in my book.  I can certainly use archival images that I already have from the company or ones I have taken myself.  Making a book such as this is not a money making venture, but one done out of passion to celebrate the brand.  Nick

I'll gladly offer up some photos when I get back from my trip. Had my boat featured in a Brass Belle article and it made me ecstatic! Would love to my old girl in print again!

Nick, I totally get it that you're not gonna get rich in this endeavor. Matter of fact, you'll probably consider it a huge success if you break even! Mary and I would be thrilled beyond belief if True North were to be included. We'll do some digging soon and hope to find print-worthy shots!

hey Nick, we have a friend / acquaintance in common - David R. Jr.  I know him from the music world in Boston, visited his condo there once. He had a sailboat parked outside at the time.

While members  are getting  these pictures  I hope some remember to submit for the calendar which helps fund this site.

Good luck Nick, will try to get some to you. Breezin' is very photogenic and has been featured in news papers and has won numerous awards. Dave
