Has anyone been to this in the past? Or planning to go this year? We are planning to go - anyone have any details from previous years?

I am also interested in this, and plan to go (from Wiggers custom Yachts in Port Darlington)

As I understand it, it has nothing to do with the CCCC?

Hi Bob,

You are correct. This event is not connected to the CCCC.  Is it the Port of Orillia that is sponsoring this?

We do list events that welcome Commanders under the Rendezvous tab.  We would be happy to list this one once we have more information and details.

Up in Ontario, eh?

This originating at Starport Marina by a couple of Chris Craft owners. The first year was held at the marina and quite a few of us thought it was great. So the next year it was held at the Port of Orillia and it was a great hit!! Last year Power Boat Television did a special on the event!! I believe it was episode 4 of 2017. We are the 47 Commander shown. It's a great time to see other Chris Crafts and meet wonderful people!

Thanks for the information Lea!!  We will add the event to the rendezvous page.

Orillia, Lake Simcoe, a beautiful area. Please post photos.

Hi Anyone know how many miles from Port Serven to Orillia and how many locks / how long to make trip. Thanks John

The trip can take around 6 hours depending on the back up at the locks.
Lock 45 is Port Severn. There are a couple of good marinas at the top or you can stay at the lock. Watch for wind at the top! 8.1 miles
The next lock (44) is Big Chute the rail lock....very cool!!! 8 miles
Then you have lock 43 Swift Rapids. A very high lock but fast. Watch for wind at the top!
There is a road bridge that you will go through honk 3 times. They are pretty fast.
The last lock is Couchiching lock 42. 14.6!miles
About 5 minutes from the lock you will come to the CN rail bridge. Honk 3 times to pass through. If there is a train coming it can take a while so be prepared to hover.
From there you will enter into Couchching Lake where the Port of Orillia is at the bottom of the lake. When you get to Big Chief Island just keep to the starboard side of the island. Watch for markers.....there have been a few people who have gotten on the wrong side and hit rocks!! I don't have a chart in front of me so I can't remember the colour or number but just follow the chart!
Website says 30.7 miles from lock 45 to 42. Then there is the distance from the lock to Orillia. I can check my chart on the weekend when we are at the boat if you need this.
Hope this helps,

I was there at the rendezvous last year for the first time & it was great to meet other CC owners. Will be there again this year. The town of Orillia is a place to have a good time restaurants, bars & shopping plus there is a bus shuttle to Casino Rama  Resort if you like that.

Mario

Only missed the first one when the Noodle Bros got the idea (and there were only 2 of them). Its a great trip and well worth it especially from Georgian Bay. We are going again this year. I would meet and go through the Severn with you but my crew does not like the fact it's free and possibly nuts this year. We will be there with a little surprise though! Definitely make plans to go and bring along other CC enthusiasts!
The more the merrier! You won't be disappointed in the venue or the commeraderie. Hope to meet you Aug 19!

Thanks it is a long way from Sturgeon Bay Wi. But I think we might be able to make it work. WE were going to do the North channel and Georgian bay next year.
