31' Sports Express / Sports Cruiser

Back to Models Index Page

Model years: 1967 - 1974

Serial numbers:

FSA-31-xxx (1967)
FSA-31-xxxx (1968-74)

Number of hulls built: 410

Length x Beam: 31' 0" x 11' 3"

Draft / Weight: 28" / 9,320 - 10,000 lbs

The same hull has the 31' Commander, but a very different deck layout and interior. Basically more of a very large day cruiser than a cabin cruiser. Most have flybridge but there are hard top versions around as well. Second only to the 31' Commander in terms of numbers built.

In 1967 these boats were introduced and called Commander Sports Express. FSA hull numbers were used.  Approximately in 1972, CC management changed the name slightly to Sports Cruiser. A price list from October 1972 lists it as a Sports Cruiser.  Same boat. New name.  Bridge or no bridge was not the distinction.  (Most had bridges.)
