We've had one these in the family.  Personally I can't stand the floor layout.  You can't take two steps without going up or down in the deck's elevation.  Step up from back of deck onto engine cover, step down once into cabin, down once more to hit the cabin deck, down once more to step up into the drivers seat, and I think the interior cabin deck is even lower.  The deck is without a doubt a workout and a falling hazard on a rough day!

Were there really only 15 of these built?

Michael Graydon from Gregory Boat Co. is an expert on this model.  He's done complete refits on a few of these for customers and a few for himself.  Two of which are kept at his yard. He is as professional as they come. 313-823-1900  Hope this help, best of luck.

I am in need of a manual for my 316 Commander, It is currently slipped in St Joseph Michigan and is used as a sport fishing boat. It has the big block power and most of the electrical was let go badly. I would like help on getting the fresh water, and the trim tabs back in working order. She runs great and is a really comfortable platform. I have been in love with the
Commander line since the late 1970's and jumped when I got the chance to own the SilverKing.
