I am chasing a no charging issue with my friends `72  41 ft  flush deck Commander with 427 engines . It has the integrated  modular  helm .

The alternator is a Motorola & has been removed & bench tested ok .

The volt regulator has been replaced & new . The battery is new  ( Delco) .

I get 12.6 volts with engine off & 12.6 volts with engine running at any rpm . Does the red lamp at the helm for the alternator have any effect

on the charging ? The alt lamp is bad and does not  light  . The other  alt lamp comes on when placing the start toggle in the " on " position & goes out when the engine starts .

Dave... does the Chris Craft  350 K engine have 1  t-stat or 2  t-stats  ?

My buddy just picked one up and found 2 t-stats in the engine .

One was in the intake manifold & the other was under the t-stat housing cap  . What is the correct location for the t - stat  ?  The service manual does not show exact location that we have .

Dave,  I just wanted to Thank you for all your help yesterday!  The two shafts for the water pumps  I have had different bearings in them.  Guess I will bite the bullet and get new ones from the guys at depco.  Since I don't know which is correct to match at bearing store.  Only want to go thru this once!   Anyway Thanks a million.

My email is philjdavis@comcast.net if you feel like sending those photos of the before on the sedan.
