• What pictures? Got a link to share?

  • Aren't Detroit 8v71s usually white?  These motors are green like 8v53....

  • This came with 8v71's. I have had two Constellations with green 8V71's

  • William,

I called about it today it is under contract

  • Under contract? Oh well, If I was 30 years younger and they took my 73 Flush Deck in trade, I'd be living on that beautiful older Commander! Hard to believe those engine hours.

  • It has been in fresh water and undercover in MD a long time.  The yard there is very good.  I hope the new owner takes care of it and does not turn it into a liveaboard and let it go.

  • DONT PURSUE this commander, I flew out to rock hall md where it’s located on the hard. I initially talked with Mike , the gentleman who is trying to sell, left a $5000. deposit and come to find out the vessel still has a lien against it, the owner which lives in New York would not give me anything but jumbled paperwork and no contact with bank. Long story short, my deposit was NOT refunded and it was listed as clear titled vessel. Any questions feel free to give me a call.Jim Saunders 360-277-6244, I went through this vessel very thoroughly,so I do know a bit about it and how it got to where it’s at now. I did fly from Seattle Wa, so I was definitely interested due to the construction and rarity of this being the first glass Commander of this size
  • This Commander, not Constellation has twin 12v71 motors not the 8v71’s
  • Mr.Snyder my 1969 57’Constellation had green 8v71’s, I just purchased another but a 1970 57’ Constellation but the 8v71’s are factory white, so the color doesn’t mean much, both naturals not turbo and still OEM 32v
  • Hmm.. I am currently under contract for the 55-001. Although the survey/sea trial/short haul, engine survey, and electrical survey are pending, my broker and I spent 4-5 hours on her two days ago afloat in Georgetown Yacht Basin. I found her to be "far out". Jim, the engines are 8V-71 NA  Models 7082-3000(p) and 20827000(s)  I took pictures of the engine plackards so maybe you saw a different 55. If this was the one you saw, I have not experienced what you did. There is no Mike in this process. The previous owner passed within the past couple of years but kept the exterior and engine room in good order, winterized and buffed and waxed every season. Now the electronics, furniture, bedding, appliances are all original. It has the original diswasher from 1970s and I am hoping that it still works. I plan to replace the interior softgoods, furniture, and other appliances this winter but keep them a little retro. Plan to decommision but keep, the original electronics in place and use a MFD/iPad for navigation. And if the sale becomes final, I will move and keep her under cover in Kent Island Maryland.
