- General DiscussionWe pulled the boat out of the water this week for our first big push to getting her refit and running again. Unfortunately all of the running gear except for the struts are toast. The rudders were completely seized in the rudder boxes and after a few hours of heat, penetrating oil, and a hydraulic press we only got one free just to find the bronze all pink and beyond saving. That being said we are trying to find some matching running gear for the boat. I have called every lead I know of and there really hasn't been any joy. We have found a set of rudders and rudder boxes for a Commander 282 which may work with some modification to the hull. Does anyone have any leads on a set of rudders/ rudder boxes/ shaft logs for a 1976 Sportsman 30?
