Fellow Commandeers, I'm considering passing my 1979 410 to another care taker. I love the boat and have poured money and time into her since acquiring from one of our members a few years ago. There is absolutely nothing wrong or missing with her, she's ready to do the Great Loop, travel to the Bahamas as we have done several times, or just go out to the bay on Sunday afternoons. The thing is, I've been presented with the opportunity to get my hands on a Hatteras 65 convertible for (relatively) cheap and need the docking space for that boat instead of this one. There's a spot in a liveaboard marina I've been waiting on for a couple of years that becomes available in November, and I would like to put the Hatteras there instead of the Commander. If the Commander is still with me at that time, I can leave her where she is right now, but I would have very little time to spend on her and even less to upkeep her. Thus, I would like to pass her on. Ideally, I would much prefer to trade her for a 23-27 fishing boat, preferably a cat (Glacier Bay, ProKat) or a mono hull. Would prefer dual outboards but will entertain single one options too, and a trailer is a MUST. If any of you have such a boat and want to trade it for a Commander in GREAT shape, I am actually willing to lose quite a bit of money in the trade. My Commander is worth upwards of $50K easily but will entertain offers as low as upper $20K range. I just don't want to sit on her until she sells, which as we all know, can take months or years. Anyone interested please email me and I will send photos and detailed info on the boat. Rudi at ideasinblue dot com.

Rudi,
What engines are in the 410?
Jim
Boat was repowered in the late 90s with Crusader 454s XL. They have about 900 easy hours on them. When I first got the boat I open them up and checked them up sort of fully dismantling them. Everything looks great. I changed all gaskets and seals, flushed the heat exchangers, and replaced the exhaust elbows about 80 hours ago. They have another 1000 hours or more of use before a rebuild is needed.
I’d be seriously thinking about a diesel conversion….
Any idea who did the canvas for that?
Hi Rudi, where is this boat located? Thanks!
Eric,
Right now, she's in Northwest Florida, by the mouth of the Suwannee river. In a couple of months, she'll be trucked to Saint Augustine.
