Hey y’all , I looked at this boat 2 years ago on joe pool lake in Grand parairie tx. The guy still has it for sale. It originally was on lake texoma. It ran good with its original 427ford v8s . Take a look and see what y’all think . The boat is pretty original and still runs well , would it be worth moving it 70 miles north back to lake texoma and maybe putting my 1972 sedan 31 up for sale ? What are your thoughts ?
How far from home are either of the lakes?
A. How often do you use the 31?
B. Do you overnight on the 31?
2. Would you spend more time on the 42?
A. In the dock or on the lake?
B. How many in the group? 2, why leave the 31, it's easy to maneuver, creature comforts are good day trips with friends are easy.
C. Expenses and comfort will increase with the 42, and the learning curve of head ducking going to the helm will be quick.
Keep us informed!
@Timothy Miller they both are about 5 hours from home. My 31 resides at lake texoma 280
Miles north of where I live. I generally come up about every 2 weeks and tinker /run the 31. It’s a sedan so it’s got a roomy interior. Ac , generator , wet head etc. nice boat. Plus it’s 350 gm powered. Parts are easy and cheaper to source than a 427 ford for sure …..
Sounds like an answer. The 42 is a great boat and a bit more comfortable than our 35 but there is the fun factor. Approaching 80 I am past the "new boat, Voyage of Discovery " even though we live in that locale, so we are continuing our 30th anniversary of Commandering, if you enjoy what you have, enjoy what you have!
