It has two Mercruiser 340HP GM454 CI engines. Starboard side runs. Port side has no spark to the distributor. I haven't ohm'd out the coil or troubleshot it much yet. I've seen people are replacing the Thunderbolt IV ignition sytems with a Delco or Mallory system. My question is, should I troubleshoot the Thunderbolt IV system and hope to find parts or is it better to just get a newer replacement distributor, sensor and ICM made by Delco/Mallory? If I do it for the port engine, do I need to replace this for both and replace the working one as well?
