I am in search of an intake for a 350Q. The range is from the 327Q to 350Q but must be of the Q sequence. The older 283/307Q will not work.
I am NOT looking for one to resell. This is for MY PERSONAL boat. The intake on my engine was repaired previously, but is internally cracked between the cooling well and the Intake ports. I have already texted Earl the pearl but no answer yet. Any leads or help would be greatly appreciated.
While we are discussing it, has anyone tried or successfully done a conversion to a F series from a Q in a 23 Lancer/Commander? The reason I ask is simple. Sometimes Chris used the Q series engines because they were on the shelf available when the F was In short supply. But the reason Chris made the Q engine was mainly to lower the height on certain models (31 Sedan for Instance) If it would fit In my 23, I could do an F install because the Intake Is not special. Anyone tried this? Any input?? Thanks! Lee
If you turn the block around to run off the "correct" end, your rotation may be the wrong way for the trans. Would need new oil pan, front cover, bell housing, exhaust manifolds, water pump etc.. Relatively inexpensive for the SB Chevy but a lot of work. May want to look for a good used marine SB - Merc or Crusader.
I think Lee was asking if anyone had put an F motor into a 23. Not converting a Q motor into an F motor. Which is an interesting idea, but probably not feasible.
Thankyou Jim. Exactly what I was asking.
