Looking for shop manual for GM 454 (#333841 stamped in manifold cover) see attached picture,
In 1973 36’ TF, port engine
do you know what the other numbers mean?
What year?
What “generation” 454 is it?
Assuming it was manufactured by “Marine Power” but not sure.
Oh, looks like that is the number for the manifold casting… where do I find the number for the engine?
The manuals for the CC/Marine Power 454 are under the resources tab on this site. Look under 454 Crusader CC Marine Power Part 1 & Part 2. Nothing to do with Crusader, however, those engines were marinized at the Chris Craft engine plant. The will have either CC or Marine Power labels on the exhaust manifolds (Chris Craft started using the Marine Power name in an effort to sell engines to other boat builders). All of the CC 454s were Mk IVs that I am aware of. They replaced the 427s and were built until the early to mid 80's when the plant was sold to Bayliner and then subsequently closed when Brunswick bought Bayliner.
You should be able to see the block casting number on the back starboard side near the bell housing. Will have to pull the valve covers to see head casting numbers.
@Thomas Sullivan thank you for this info, yes i was able to find the Marine Power 454 manual, thank you!
