Could anyone give me a definitive answer on the Air Draft / Height Clearance of an ‘80’s 410
Tony Green from Tx sent me 175”(14.58’) full fuel and water.
This commander does have the low plexiglas windshield and the stainless rail. If need be they COULD be taken off.
The top of the command bridge is I believe to be the compass on the command bridge.
Dave Thompson in Md also gave a measurement of a little over 16’ and that boat was empty of even the tanks.
I’m looking for comfortably under 15’8 on the western Erie Canal.
Any firm suggestions or measurements would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all in advance.

I don't have firm measurements, but 14'7" sounds a little low to me going based on appearance and the height of my 381. Charlene's number of 15'10" is probably much closer. I expect you'd at least need to remove the wind deflector and helm console to have any chance of doing the Western Erie in a 410.
Personally, if you like the 410, want to fit under that 15.5 foot bridge and aren't dead set on having a flybridge, I'd consider just stripping the flybridge off the top and having the lower helm with a nice hardtop (and plenty of room for solar panels or other stuff up top). That would get you under that bridge with room to spare, even if you mount radar up top or anything like that.
Thank you both Robert and Char.
I am looking for someone with a 410 that can give a difinative number measured on there vessel.
I have a copy of the sale brochure (Thank you Char)
I do know I will get the measurements when we are on the boat and it is loaded for the trip home, was just looking for someone that had there 410 in the water. Terry Sorenson would be a good one to tape into possibly, tho I’m assuming they aren’t in the water yet. Obviously fuel and water will make a difference as mentioned in my original request for information.
Thank you both again so far.
I know this is apples to oranges, but my 38 with flybridge made it under easily, after dropping the flybridge Bimini.
I recall a delivery story of a 55 or 60 Commander where the keel plugs were pulled until sufficient clearance was obtained. (Jim, was this your story? ) For an older boat I think I would exercise the plugs on the hard and upgrade the pumps. Thinking of that if the genny is reliable a sump pump and sufficient discharge hose would answer the call. I keep one in the bilge with 50' of pool type discharge hose. It has been used on a neighbors boat and the result was dramatic.
Thank you all

Your responses are truly appreciated and valued. But I am still looking for a definitive number taken from an actual measurement on a 410 with a flybridge. Yes I certainly will measure my own vessel when I am at it, but I am planning a return trip home from Port Huron Michigan to Syracuse NY. Would like to travel the Erie Canals western section rather than the Welland Canaland both Great Lakes. 3 lower bridges in that western section posse a possible problem at a normal water height of 15.68. We receive Mariners Notices from the canal corp and they informed us of the water level being 1’ lower in that section this yr, do to their control so I may be very safe. But I am planning on any problem I may foresee and adjusting the plans accordingly.
Again thank you all
Grateful to you all for your input.
Mark
Our 86 410 is 13ft exactly from the water to the top of the hard top.
I'm sorry but we removed the flybridge so I can't measure that for you.
I can tell you our experience having had 2 different 41 commanders a 79 and now an 86
That water and fuel load will hardly change the air draft at all.
I doubt you will be able to run the western canal because I really don't think you can get a 41 with a bridge at least an mid 80s model down to 15ft 6 inches and I know the 79 had a different bridge that was lower than the 80s boats by maybe 6 inches.
Good luck
