Hi there! I have a 42 ft CC Commander 1985.
I’ve had the boat for 3 years and have replaced the forward and midship bilge pumps. On my dashboard there’s a switch for an aft bilge, but we can’t locate it. I thought it might be under the bed boards in the aft stateroom, but my mechanic opened those boards this winter and found nothing but the tanks.
Does anyone know where the (3rd) aft bilge is located?
Many thanks!
The location has been posted in the past. It is behind the aft wall and accessed via a removable panel to the lower right as you face aft. Best accessed by a young, slender, flexible person with a length of retrieval line on an ankle.
Wonderful Tim! Appreciate that great advice (particularly the retrieval line!).
Just to be clear, is that the far right wall in the aft stateroom?
(My boat is under shrink wrap just now so I can’t hop on to check).
A. It wasn't my boat.
B. It was probably 10 or 15 years ago.
Facing aft, it is the right aft section of the wall, between the bed and the corner. It is the lower portion. There may have been something in front of it, I don't think there is a closet. It's a voyage of discovery, put on your Lewis and Clark hat.
Yes - I will get myself ready for the inspection! Thx again!
