Hello, I would like to upgrade my upper helm steering wheel on a 1973 36' Sports Cruiser. Would anyone know the shaft diameter size and if it's a tapered shaft? The more information I have the better before trying to remove the wheel.

If its a morse i am pretty sure its 7/8 and tapered, Most other boats are 3/4 and tapered
Hello William, the steering is original but not sure of the manufacturer. I'll have to go under the dash to see if I can tell any signs of a manufacturer. I know I have hynautic steering.
