Call them. They will match you up for WAYYYYYY less than a grand each. I use their stuff often in my business. They will need info (HP, Electric or Stove Choke, Inboard)
It was the rotor in the electric distributor causing the issue, it wasnt seated right. I did find this amazing Marine Carburetor family owned company in San Diego https://www.marinecarburetors.com, price is $350 for rebuilt and they list the model numbers that they replace, can they beat this price?
Personally, I wouldn't buy any of the cheap ($350-ish) rebuilt Quadrajets out there. Most of them are complete junk that are poorly cobbled together. I've seen a few that were not even close to correct for the engines they were supposed to go on, as well as some of those builders using non-marine castings with poorly modified vents, etc.
Unless the casting itself is screwed, you're better off rebuilding the Qjet you already have. Or you can find a suitable used one to rebuild. Otherwise I'd strongly consider swapping to a different carb rather than getting one of the cheap remans.
