If you have 2 inlets side by side on the same side then YES. One will run most of the house stuff (Outlets, Hot Water Heater, etc. the Second is usually dedicated to HVAC systems. If you have one on each side of the boat then No this just allows you to decide which side you want to the cord based upon dockage. The other way to easily tell is if you have one or two MAIN breakers on the panel.
From what I have seen in boats of this era, it is likely that your two 50A inlets are 50A 120VAC, not the more common "modern" 50A 240VAC. If you have a single 50A 240VAC outlet at your dock you will need a splitter adapter. As Lee mentioned, I would expect the inlets to be labeled something like "Line 1 - Main" and "Line 2 - AC".
My 41' commander has two 30 Amp shore power outlets. One for house, the other for HVAC. Have two friends with 41's too. All are 30 amp cords/outlets. Just look at the outlets, a 30 amp is different than a 50 amp. Post a picture and we can let you know. What cords do you have now?
