Anyone know what was originally located in this original, elaborate, hinged wall box cover on the port side, interior salon wall beside the original couch ??? Photos attached. The original electric wires are still present but not what the electrical wires were attached too ??? Perhaps a scroll fan ??? . . . or ???

The brochure says "stereo tape deck is standard" , given the probable size of the time and probability of dual heads or even reel to reel?
Or possibly "eight
clunk
track"
I would guess stereo equipment as Tim said. On my 1973 47 all evidence leads me to believe the factory stereo and TV setup was in the credenza in the forward starboard corner of the salon based on where the wires terminated. However, these 47s were often customized to a degree (if you look through the list of drawings offered by the Mariner's Museum you will see drawings of customizations listed) and I suspect that was an upgraded stereo setup on your boat. On mine, that is all storage with sliding doors identical to the electrical cabinet ahead of it.
