We replaced the salon carpet and wrapped all hatches. Having a challege in putting in pulls. This is what our boat installer is proposing He told us traditional pulls won’t work with the new flooring . Suggestions

Nothing wrong with using the original pulls. He's probably worried they'll sink too far into the carpet when installed. A work around would be to add a plywood spacer under the pull and install with longer fasteners.
