My 86 Catalina has two 205 gallon fuel tanks under the aft cabin bunk. Both tanks are rectangular and have a bit of a downward angle from the top to the bottom down to the sole at the rear.
Does anyone might know the dimensions of these tanks?
My fuel gauges aren't that accurate so I want to measure the depth to help determine how much fuel is in the tank by inches.
One time I measured there was 14 inches of fuel in the starboard tank and I believe at the time there was about 100 gallons of fuel in the tank?
With a angled tank I know the amount of fuel by inches will be different at each level of depth. How much I'm not sure.
If I can get the dimensions I might be able to determine that a gallon or gallons of fuel is that many inches of depth.
Hopefully this is not to confusing of a question and that I'm not just over thinking this issue.
