Maybe try Harpur's Marine http://www.harpursmarine.com

Would they be standard small-block Chevy wires?  I'm planning to get a couple sets this winter, haven't started researching, hoping they are pretty widely available and not another scavenger hunt.

Hi Scott, unless you're looking for absolute originality you can get wires for your sbc at any auto parts source. There are very few parts guys out there anymore that know anything unless you have a vin number to look up what you need but I have good luck at NAPA. Being an opposite rotation you may have to juggle the wire lengths to make it look good. For a "look-up" application I used a 1968 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup with a 283 but you can use any small block application. One variable will be whether you want the wires above or below the manifolds. I think after a couple of tries I ended up with a set of wires for a big block. As I recall NAPA even sells individual wires by length so you can tailor fit a complete set. I can't recall why I did not do that.

Captain Pete

Consider contacting Harpurs Marine out in the L.A. area . They probably have the correct wire length for each cylinder in their database since they were a Chris Craft distributor from back in the day .

The new wires must be low resistance / spiral wound design for better performance .  Try to get a brand that measures 500 ohms per foot or less .  That will give you crisper starting and a smoother idle .

My personal plug wire choice is the Moroso Ultra 40 from Moroso Wire Technologies , and they do custom sets .

Many  wire manufacturers will custom make a set for your application of length and boot style .

Thanks all for you replies and great suggestions!

you will need 7 mm wires for a small block GM. 8 MM WILL NOT FIT IN THE CAP

Thanks for that caution, I should bring a crab cap along to make sure they fit.

Hi I used the Moroso ultra 40 8.65mm wires with Taylor  boots and they fit just fine in the crab cap. Bought them through Summit racing

Hi Peter, Just to clarify did you use these for the 327QA?

Yes Charlene that is correct. For my 327QA. I'm sure they will fit any small block engine that has the crab distributor cap and others,.i.e 283,350
