I have installed sound down insulation on several boats. They have a few ways to install it. There is self stick. There is pins that you can epoxy in place that except buttons over the pins. You can also buy spray adhiesive and apply the adhiesive yourself.
However my way of choice where ever posibile I like to use stainless pan head screws with rubber coated washers (like the ones you would use on the roof of a metal pole barn building. I scrw right thru the insulation into the hacth cover or wall as long as there is a suitable substrate. This way you can remove the insulation in the future if you ever need to run wireing or make a repair where the insulation would get in the way otherwise. Soundown is not cheep so make sure you make good patterns before cutting into it.
