Just got done a reporter on a Q engine. Owner wanted to put a new old stock crab cap he purchased on eBay. I did. The engine would not behave as it should have. I couldn’t get the timing to correctly line up and then when I went to rotate the dist.? Yeowch!! Changed out to a different cap and everything was perfect!

??? Not sure I follow?

You guys are to funny. Thanks for the heads up Lee

I finally purchased a couple of the new Mallory electronic distributors for my 350Q. I put one of the new ones on my Starboard engine and it ran (barely) terrible. It was misfiring so bad it sounded like the engine was coming apart.  It came with a new distributor cap (this one was black rather than the deep red/maroon color) and when I reached down and touched the cap I got a strong jolt of electricity up my arm. Put a cap on it out of my large stock and the engine ran properly.
