Tom - I could be wrong, but I think most would agree that unless you really know what you’re doing, it’s best to have distributors rebuilt by a professional. There are tolerances that need to be done right and properly bench tested.

If you’re dead set on doing it yourself, I can’t help with you’re specific ask. Sorry. But I can highly recommend VanNess Engineering in New Jersey to do a proper rebuild. Dave (the owner) is a great guy and really understands how to properly adjust our distributors. He’ll test what you have, ensure the phasing on Pertronix is properly adjusted (which isn’t necessarily the case out of the box), and get you back a perfectly working distributor.

I believe my distributors were at least partly to blame for the preignition detonation that destroyed one of my engines the year before last. I know this because I was plowing through caps like I owned stock in Mallory (about 3-4/season). After going through a full season with the “new” distributors, I changed one cap once, at about 50 hours. Oh - forgot to mention, this was all after I had Mallory themselves rebuild the distributor of the engine that blew, albeit just before they completely sold out to Sierra.

Anyway - your boat, your rules. But I’d encourage you to seriously consider letting Dave take a look at things and do it right. The consequences can get pretty serious.

Thomas --

Send a couple of pics of your damaged stuff. I do have some used Mallory parts in my shop that might be just what you need.

If you end up needing a distributer

I do have one in good working  condition

Hay guys I have had no luck in finding new distributors for the 427 so I took Matt Cowles recommendation and got ahold of Dave at vanNess Engineering. He said he would get them up and running. So if you need help with Mallory distributors give him a call.   Thanks Matt for your help I will give a up date when I get them back          Thanks all Tom

Jeremy I may need that distributor if you still have it not having much luck with vanNess. What is the price and rotation.          Thanks Tom

Hi Thomas,

I only have the starboard distributer (left hand motor) left

It has been converted to electric ign.

I put all new cap rotor and wires on it  toward the end of the  2017 season which was the last time my boat was in the water . There's about 10 hours of run time on them since.

$180   Give me a call or email if you are interested . Jeremy@custommarine.biz  419-621-1188

Just realized I mis spoke its off the stbd motor so its right hand.
