Hey all!

I wanted to thank you all again for your help the other week on that 38 we were looking at.  I appreciated the candor.  As I said, the search continues, and I stumbled on this:

http://smd.craigslist.org/boa/4112230265.html

I think I missed it before because I'm reasonably sure it's mislabeled.  I haven't looked at her yet,but did just speak with the owner.  He says the title says it's a 1969 and listed at 37'.  I'm no expert, but looking at the pictures, that sure looks like a 35 Commander to me.  (Don't worry - the arch would be the first thing removed!)

Given the rebuilt motors and apparent condition of the boat, I'm quite interested.  About the only thing it currently lacks is a generator, but it is wired for one.  Apparently the previous owner didn't reinstall when the motors were rebuilt.

Anyway, would love any thoughts you might have!  The Admiral is taking the first look on Wednesday.

Thanks Q!  What I can guarantee you, is that the condition of the rest of the boat is so nice it definitely balances out the arch.  Can't WAIT to get through the sea trial and survey next Tuesday.  I'm staying optimistic and bringing a check for the balance...I WANT THOSE KEYS!!

Just wanted to thank you all as you helped the Admiral and I through the purchase of our 35 Commander!  We picked-up the title last night and are finally proud owners of that shiny bow badge and all it represents!

All that really needs to be done is to get those big 427's tuned-up perfectly!  If anyone knows a good guy in the Chesapeake - please let me know!  I'll eventually do most of the work myself, but those big boys are a little intimidating at first!

Anyway - thanks again all!

This link should take you to a slideshow from the haul-out on Tuesday:

Lee Dahlen gets to that area with some frequency, is familiar with those engines.

Thanks Tim - I sent him a PM!  Just trying to soak-up as much info as I can right now.  I've worked on engines before, but these are by far the largest!

Lets see your engine room and engines

Byron

Here's the only one I have so far. More will be coming!

Q

Wait - what's funky about my risers?? I know these things are already hard to come by...don't need it being MORE difficult!?
