They are the drains for the round aft escape hatch.

needs to be cleaned regularly

Thank you both, will get on that Friday!
Great place to hang if you are a big nasty spider

Spider houses for sure!!!!

How would you go about cleaning it out? Plumbing snake?

I sprayed for spiders first, then just used a hose... to be honest, mine wasn't too bad considering the history of the boat before I bought it.  I think a plumbing snake is going to be too big, but perhaps a wood dowel from the outside in, then water from the inside out will be enough.  Put some towels down or have someone stand down underneath with a towel if you want to keep things from getting wet in the aft cabin...

Arts and craft stores have super long and fuzzy wire pipe cleaners which are great for cleaning window tracks and drain holes.  I think the longest I have found are about a foot long but they can be twisted together to be fatter or longer.

Tim

I use a wooden dowel from home depot

Chris, I have got the spider haven! What do you use to move them to someone else's dock?

Spiders you say ?? Google "Barn Spray for spiders".  Works great :-)

Too many answers, are you referring to diatomaceous earth?  I didn't think of using it for spiders, I know it works well for mites.  It abrades the skin and desiccates them.
