I have a 1973 chris craft express with dual 350 engines, dual fuel tanks, and dual petcocks. It seems the engines are only using fuel from the port side fuel tank, is there a diagram or something I can use to figure out how to set the petcocks so the engines us fuel from both tanks instead of only one fuel tank. Can't figure it out, kinda frustrating!!! Any help would be appreciated and this is my first chris craft...

Usually the handle will align with the fuel line when open.

I want to say it has like 3 fuel lines coming out of each petcock..that's the confusing part!!

Would it be possible to post a photo or 2??

If you are lucky you might find a number and manufacturer id on the valve.  3-ways come in two flavors, L port and T port innards.  L port either side of the T to the leg or shutoff.  The T port will allow all, either two adjacent or flow through the two opposite lines.  I would expect yours is the L port so you can select either tank or both.  There may be a ridge on the two opposing inlets so the valve handle indicator (does the handle have a pointy end opposite the handle?) points in the direction of inlet flow.

I need to check and take a photo, I'm at home and boat is 35 miles away in boat slip, going down wed and checking it out and will post some photos but still all the info is good!

This is a photo of the 2 petcocks on my boat and they do have arrows on the petcocks. You can see the two fuel tanks behind the petcocks...

Now that I look at the picture both petcocks are pointing at the tank that is low on fuel....Hmmmmm! I know!!

There should be a line connecting the 2 fuel tanks and it should have a petcock in the middle. This should be closed so each eng. draws off its own tank. I have used this as a trouble shooting tool where one engine would not tach up. I switched to the tank of the good running engine and it ran fine and that led me to find a blockage in the valve of the port fuel tank (spider).

That's a good not to remember!

There should be a cross-over line. I fixed mine by changing the line ... it was partially plugged.

That doesn't look like a factory installation, so you'll pretty much need to follow the lines to figure it out. I would say the fact that both are pointed at the same tank may be a good indication though.

I hope in the last 5 years since his post he has figured out his fuel valves
