I just purchased a 1973 41' that was repowered from 427's to 454's in 2000. It appears that these came with 22 x 22 props stock (Is that correct?) It currently has  the22x22 props, so I think there may be some room for improvement since it went from twin 300hp to twin 365hp. What size props did 410s with stock 454's come with?

Will the engines red-line easily?  If not they have a reasonably well matched set of props.

I don't know for sure but I think the torque of the 427 is around the same as the 454 and the 427 is  considerably lighter.  Torque for the 427 is 438 ft. lbs. and the 454 may be around the same number.  It is torque not hp that moves weight through water, it has to twist that shaft.

Information worth every penny paid.
