Trying to track down an original windshield for my 1972 CC Lancer 23'. If anyone has any leads or is off loading parts from a dead boat please let me know! My boat has passed hands quite a few times and one previous owner replaced the original windshield with a black frame and tinted plexi. Really hoping to get it back to the original.
Also, if someone's had a replacement made by Taylor Made (the original manufacturer) it would be great to know how it turned out!
Thanks,
- Ian

Ian, how did you make out with finding a windshield ? I need a starboard panel for my original Taylor made that just shattered this week. Thank, Ted
Taylor will still make pieces or even whole windshields to replace or repair their older designs
Jeremy, I called and didn't get that information. I'll try again and hopefully I can talk with someone with more experience this time. Thanks.

Taylor made gave be a rough quote (3-5K) to replace the full windshield but the new one wont retain the curve of the original. Instead it uses flat glass. I didn't ask about replacing the curved glass but a friend of mine who also has a Lancer tried a while back but ended up just using plexi for the broken pain.
Thanks for that info, I will be replacing it with plexiglas for now.

Nice job ! After seeing that, I will be looking into a Taylor Made over the winter for a new one. I'll use the plexi through this season for now. Thanks for the info. Oh yeah, I still hit my head on that cross member at least once a month.

Thanks Theodore!
I did have to add some extra structure and additional fiberglass to the uprights that support the dash on both sides . With out that orig cross bar the windshield lost a little rigidity. But once done it was stronger than original and no more goose eggs on foreheads

There is a guy on Facebook marketplace that is selling a 23 lancer with an extra windshield. maybe he would part with it. the boat is in Ticonderoga NY

Hope it works out,
Doug
Thanks for the lead. It looks like he's asking a bit too much. We'll see if he comes around.
