2019 Regional Rendezvous – Hosts Wanted

Commander Club members, have you been:

Yearning for a little fix for Commander-itis?

Want to meet other Commander owners in your area?

Wanting to try a great idea for a Commander gathering on or off the water?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, then we have just the remedy for you:  We encourage you to think about hosting, or, indicating your interest in hosting a Regional Rendezvous in your area in 2019.

There were two Regionals in 2015 one hosted by Wayne & Jan Roworth in Tennessee and another hosted by Heath Trerice & Family at the Clinton River Boat Club in Lake St. Clair. There was also one in 2017 in the Chesapeake Bay area hosted by Matt Cowles. All who attended these events reported a great time.  See  Rendezvous History for details.

Current club policy is for National Rendezvous to be scheduled in even numbered years, with Regional Rendezvous being recommended & encouraged for odd numbered years.

What is a Regional Rendezvous?  Here are some ideas:

  • A raft up -
  • A weekend meet at a marina or yacht club -
  • A one day meet -
  • An off the water event at a restaurant or other venue -
  • An organized gathering of Commander owners at another event such as a boat show -

The main difference between a Regional Rendezvous and a National Rendezvous is the level of EC assistance and involvement.  The EC will approve and publicize a Regional Rendezvous and subsidize approved expenditures up to $500 each.  It is up to you to decide what you want to do & how to spend the funds.  It's OK if there are just a few boats and a few people.  When the event is ready to announce, we will post it on the website in the events section.  We will also post events that don’t require funding from the club.

Information we would need about a Regional Rendezvous:

Name, e-mail and phone number of event organizers -

Name of event -

Place -

Date & Time -

Number of boats estimated -

Number of people estimated -

Possible activities -

Cost to attendees if applicable -

Total funds requested from Club, and what expenditures they are projected to cover -
