Help Wanted!!! New Faces New Perspectives - EC Openings beginning in January, 2020

Would you like to be more active in the Commander Club?  Would you like to help chart our course?  Are you willing to commit the time, energy and creativity needed to assist us in promoting and supporting our mission?

We are searching for new faces and new perspectives.  Positions start in January 2020 for a two year term.

Duties for each position are located in the bylaws http://commanderclub.com/page/bylaws.

There are four positions open on the Executive Committee.

 Public Relations Chair:

If you would like to help us prepare or edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences and help promote the club with the media and the boating community the PR Chair may be right for you.  We have 2 electronic newsletters per year - “Styled in Fiberglass” and at least one broadcast message to members per month.  Members submit great articles.  Position requires the use of computer and experience with e-mail and Word documents.  Knowledge of Publisher preferred but not required.

 Membership Chair:

If you love socializing, Membership Chair might be the job for you.  Welcome new members via e-mail, help members connect with others, and  mail membership materials to new members.  Membership is the heart of the club.  Are you personable, outgoing, articulate and enthusiastic about Commanders?  And the best part – you don’t have to hound folks for dues!!!  Position requires the use of computer and experience with e-mail, Word and Excel documents.

 Treasurer

If you are good with numbers, have a great eye for detail, and comfortable balancing a checkbook the Treasurer job may be right for you.  We have a checkbook and a PayPal account.  All records and accounts are current.  Position requires use of computer and experience with Microsoft Excel.  Experience with Quicken or Quickbooks desirable.

 Chief Commander

This is such a great club, but it doesn't run by itself.  As the highest elected officer of the Club, the Chief Commander shall preside at all Executive Committee meetings and Club functions and oversee the affairs of the Club through regular and continued communication with the Executive Committee and club members. Position requires the use of computer, experience with e-mail and Word documents and a passion for our beloved Commanders.

The Executive Committee convenes monthly via conference call.  Meetings typically last 90 minutes or less.  Most work done via e-mail.  Each job has its own time commitment depending on club activities.  Current EC members will mentor you.

Take a look at the minutes of a typical meeting.
