Won't return to idle
9 Replies

Well, after buying the boat(282 Commander)almost a year ago and almost 6 years on the hard, it finally saw the water. A few things still need to be worked out, such as the port engine won't return to idle. Would anybody have experienced such a…Continue

Rudder/steering question

I have a 282 Commander, similar to the Uniflite Salty Dog. When I bought it last year, it had a bent port rudder and broken rudder port. It is now fixed, but I have a question on putting it back together. What holds the rudder in place? Is it the…Continue

That doesn't seem bad.  I was planning to mount them right were the chine starts the V.  maybe 3 inches in.  they say further out is best to stabilize.  I hope my 12X9's work as well as they did for you.  I got Bennett's so I need to find a place for the pump now.  Anyway,  Thanks for the updates!

Thanks Sean.  If the guy still has them I will probably pick them up.  You sparked my curiosity now.  Where did you mount them?

Sean:  Nice to see another Commander owner in RI.  I will be glad to answer any question you have.  I am in the process of refurbishing mine and hope to have it in water by April.  Let me know how you want to communicate.

Waldo
