here's my breaker:

I always thought that you get 220-240v by going across the 110+ and 110-  supplies in the panel. Not sure how that happens with a double pole breaker?

Hi Kevin,

May I ask an electrician favor? I do most things myself but this is a new one for me. Wiring a NEMA 14-50 for my wife's soon-to-arrive Tesla. I've done the receptacle with red and black wires to the outside (hot) contacts and the white to the center, ground to the green contact. I'm sure that's right but not sure if it matters which side gets red vs. black? Next step is to do the panel:  I have a new 50amp 2-pole breaker and an open double slot in the panel. Same question, does it matter which terminal gets the red wire and black wire?

Thanks Kevin,

Steering with two engines is smooth and precise.

The trick I use on single engine boats, and see the single diesel charter boats in our area use, is turn the wheel hard to port/starboard (depending on which way your turning) and blip the throttle causing the stern to scoot side ways, then into reverse to stop forward movement. Repeat as necessary. I've seen boats pretty much spin in place like with twin engine steering, though not as smoothly due to the stern scooting sideways thing. I anticipate it working a little less efficiently on one engine of a twin engine boat with two smaller rudders, versus a single larger rudder.

Fortunately I'm launching at an inland, protected from the wind and waves marina with the fuel dock straight forward our of the travel launching bay. I'll only have to deal with it at my home marina where I'll call ahead tip have the guys meet me at my finger dock to assist. Thanks again.

New Faces, New Perspectives - Executive Committee Openings to start in January 2020

Would you like to be more active in the Commander Club? Would you like to help chart our course? Are you willing to commit the time, energy and creativity needed to assist us in promoting and supporting our mission?

We are searching for new faces and new perspectives. Positions start in January 2020 for a two year term.

There are four positions available. Chief Commander, Treasurer, Public Relations Chair and Membership Chair.

Duties for each position are located in the bylaws https://commanderclub.com/page/bylaws

More details about each position here.

The Executive Committee (EC) convenes monthly via conference call. Meetings typically last 90 minutes or less. Most work done via e-mail. Each job has its own time commitment depending on club activities. Current EC members will mentor you.
