We bought Timtation in, perhaps September 1994.  It was moored at Lake Ozark, MO and we had it moved to the Alton Lake Pool of the Mississippi River in October of that year.  Within a year or two I was able to access the "World Wide Web" and would occasionally search for CC Commandder.  A dock neighbor was given a magazine for Christmas and the first issue he received had an article by Curt Radford about the 38 Commanders.  The shared article re-awakened my interest and once again I began checking the WWW for "ChriscraftCommander" to no avail. 

In 2000 I found a hit on my search which I had not renewed since early in the year.  The hit showed a discussion goup primarily focused on 38 Commnanders but being the gregarious shy, occasionally extroverted person I am I jumped into the mix by joining the yahoo group.  Signup meant being accepted and getting the conversations of the group. 

A consulting project took me to Brazil, a country I have enjoyed for a very long time, and might have adopted in different circumstances.  Upon arriving at my destination facility and completing the initial tour I was connected to the internet so I could check in with HQ, my wife etc.  What I met was about 35 messages from my new group, the Commander Club.

It has been very enjoyable every day since that memorable experience.  I have not

seen a better or  more enjoyable conversation about our passion or past time than this issue you have produced.  Past editors have been,  more than capable, past issues have been more than good.

New Faces, New Perspectives - Executive Committee Openings to start in January 2020

Would you like to be more active in the Commander Club? Would you like to help chart our course? Are you willing to commit the time, energy and creativity needed to assist us in promoting and supporting our mission?

We are searching for new faces and new perspectives. Positions start in January 2020 for a two year term.

There are four positions available. Chief Commander, Treasurer, Public Relations Chair and Membership Chair.

Duties for each position are located in the bylaws

More details about each position here.

The Executive Committee (EC) convenes monthly via conference call. Meetings typically last 90 minutes or less. Most work done via e-mail. Each job has its own time commitment depending on club activities. Current EC members will mentor you.
